During a livestream that burned its way through social media, the rapper/YouTuber went off on the naysayers who've alleged DDG is paying for favorable press. The accusations came after several influencer friends publicly endorsed him in the wake of serious allegations from his ex-girlfriend, singer and actress Halle Bailey.
@DDGfireme has somewhat of a read during the session and doesn't hold back. "People been getting mad at people saying that I'm a cool n*," he said, clearly over the gossip. Do you think I give a f*** who likes me?
The allegations arose after a viral tweet implied that DDG had been paying for favorable coverage as he faced legal repercussions following the abuse claims. But according to the rapper, the idea of him bribing anyone for PR is laughable and beside the point. "I am cool with people I have met in real life, so why would I pay them for PR?" he said. N*, I'm dealing with legal and A fan; I don't give a f* what a fan thinks."
DDG's frustration reached a head when he directly snapped back at "HOL'UP" and those of his ilk, calling him out online, particularly on X (formerly Twitter). "Anyone who has tweeted at me, and I hope this p*** you off, I can pull up to your crib, take a sit on your doorstep, and there's nothing you can do about it." Right now!" he declared.
The stream followed a swell of online solidarity from other personalities hailing from Kai Cenat's Streamers University, where names like India Love and Cookingwitkya, two influencers who have met, known, and spoken out in DDG's defense, sent messages of support.
India Love, who's been romantically linked to DDG, threw her support behind him in a recent livestream, calling him a "genuine person" and a "great guy." She was honest about her lack of regard for what others might think, stating emphatically "that she didn't care what others thought."
Cookingwitkya agreed, describing DDG as "a real genuine, nice person" who is "really respectful." She pointed out that he's someone who's supported her off-camera and hasn't made it an optics or a clout thing.
Despite receiving criticism, DDG remained unbothered, even amused, by the speculation surrounding his character and the intentions of those supporting him. "I'm not trying to win anybody over," he added. I don't need to."
Love or hate him, DDG isn't keeping quiet when his name is in the headlines, and his stream was more than a defense. There is no PR script, no filter, just straight-up DDG, raw and unbothered.
