Swizz Beatz Expands Empire into TV, Film, & Podcasts with Hollywood Power Move

The Grammy-winning hitmaker Swizz Beatz is looking to spike the volume in Hollywood. Best known for setting stages on fire and burning up the charts, Swizz is taking his storytelling prowess to the next level in a partnership with prolific screenwriter Chris Brancato (The Sopranos) in a multi-platform production company set to unsettle the industry.

First reported by Variety, the move is another step in the constant evolution of the ever-growing Swizz Beatz brand. The new endeavor does not yet have a name, but the mission is already eminently clear: to deliver daring, inclusive storytelling across television, film, and podcasts. Culture meets creativity, and you already know the explosive results.

“Transitioning into producing and creating new shows with [Brancato] felt so organic and natural,” Swizz revealed. “That is our vibe, our inclusive chemistry, inspiring and pushing each other to inspire new creative ideas.”

This isn’t their first meeting of creative minds. The pair previously collaborated on the critically acclaimed Godfather of Harlem, and they’re further building on that partnership with The Westies, a new crime series set to begin production in July 2025. If their previous work is any indication, the stories will be gripping and profound and leave a mark.

Swizz Beatz, born Kasseem Dean, has made his case for years that he’s more than just a producer. From co-founding the Verzuz music battle phenomenon alongside Timbaland to his marquee brand partnerships with the likes of Reebok and Aston Martin to his standing as a Harvard Business School grad and the current global ambassador for Bacardi Swizz knows how to amass an empire. Art collector, fashion tastemaker, and television producer? He is, in a word, a multi-hyphenate.

The flip side of this powerhouse duo is Chris Brancato, who brought us hits like Narcos and Narcos: Mexico. As a veteran of Hannibal, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and even The Sopranos, Brancato clearly brings a grimy, well-traveled perspective to the story at hand. His fascination with power, crime, and cultural subtlety is an ideal fit with Swizz’s creative energy and closeness to the pulse of the people.

Together, they’re not just making shows, but they’re making statements. Dedicated to integrity, diversity, and voices too infrequently heard, this new chapter will symbolize more than entertainment. It’s about repurposing the landscape. Swizz Beatz has always been ahead of the curve, and with this dive into screen and sound, he’s further demonstrating that limits are made to be tested when vision meets purpose.
