Bulgarian musician and photographer Ivan Shishkov comes to you with his debut metal album "WHEN YOUR DEMONS COME." "WHEN YOUR DEMONS COME" has been a concept cultivated deep inside Ivan from its birth, and is finally realized in a brutally honest and artistically intense auditory assault. Written initially on his bass guitar, his constant musical companion for much of his life, every song is a piece that slowly unveils another layer of the artist's world, confronting deep fears, bitterness, and despair as the masks fall away and isolation takes over.
"WHEN YOUR DEMONS COME" is a true solo vision written, produced, mixed, mastered, and designed all by Ivan himself, including concept, music, and lyrics. The album is also the result of powerful individual and collective performances from an all-star cast of musicians worldwide. UK's Rob Davies lends his poignant vocals; Ramon Martinez of Venezuela captains rhythm & lead guitars; Argentina's German Maldonado adds evil-injected guitar solos on songs like "DESPAIR," "UNCERTAINTY," AND "ENVY." The rhythmic spine is comprised of Ecuador's Fabian Carrion Troya on MIDI drums and Argentina's David Mendez on acoustic drums. Editing, mixing, and mastering were once again handled with technical expertise by Ilarion Ivanenko (Ukraine) and Colin Davis (USA), ensuring the sound aligned with the raw yet crisp direction of the vision.
"I've had this music in my head for years," Ivan says. "Now it's finally real." That declaration holds for the album's 39 minutes and 15 seconds, comprising 11 complexly arranged, dynamically structured compositions. At the heart of the album's themes are the demons we all fight, the ones our hearts wrestle in our solitary rooms. It is an incredibly personal, brutally honest statement about the human condition: the aspects of our humanity to which we are most vulnerable and the ones that serve us best. Tracks like "Hatred" and "Envy" encapsulate the ban and suggest that we can expect to hear and see many more like them in the future.
