When The All's Eye Trio pushes play, you know you're in for a ride, and "West Hill Road" is evidence. As the opening track, it bursts with an infectious vitality that seizes you from the very first riff. Kris Yunker's keys twinkle at the top end, like sunlight bursting through a cloudy sky, while Ari Joshua's guitar finds its feels in and out, dancing with every note with seemingly little effort. Somewhere beneath it all, though, the crisp, locked-in drumming of Ben Atkind steers the groove with precision, anchoring the song in a rhythm that can't help but move.
At seven minutes, The trio brings us along for an uplift with hints of jam band psychedelia, tight musicianship, and exploratory vibes. "West Hill Road" feels alive, morphing and changing as it progresses, never lingering too long in one place. It's the kind of song that inspires you to go on the open road with the windows down and the volume up.
No doubt if the names Kris and Ben sound familiar to you, and for good reason, as both have been part of an act called GOOSE that has been packing out and filling up large venues with their unique brand of performance art. But The All's Eye Trio is carving a new love trail, drawing on that original energy reserves and capturing that vibrant sound with their light rays and trailblazing. Prepare to get lost in the sound "West Hill Road" is only a taste of what's to come.
