Beyoncé & Jay-Z Reportedly Considering Legal Action Against Kanye West Over Offensive Posts About Their Children

The underlying disharmony between Kanye West and his one-time pals Beyoncé and Jay-Z hit a nerve last week after Ye took to social media to shader the couple's youngest kids, Rumi and Sir. According to reports, the Carters could take legal action to retaliate against his inflammatory comments.

The uproar began late Tuesday when Ye, also known as Kanye West, wrote an explosive, offensive message on X (formerly known as Twitter). The now-pulled post contained insults towards the Carter twins, suggesting that whatever is 'wrong with them' is due to them being conceived through artificial insemination.

Although he promptly deleted the post, Ye dug in his heels hours later by bizarrely reposting the same message. He later took it down again, saying, "I need everybody to know that I took the post about Jay Z and Beyoncé's family down… because there was a chance of my Twitter getting canceled.

Sources close to the power couple say that Beyoncé and Jay-Z are furious and refuse to let Ye's words go unchecked. They are said to consider their legal options to prevent their children from being attacked publicly further. Considering the Carters' track record of dealing with their personal affairs behind closed doors, their readiness to seek the law shows how serious they feel the situation is.

"They will not stand for it," an insider told Page Six, noting that Ye's words were hurtful and could have real-world consequences on their family's well-being.

Beyoncé's mother, Tina Knowles, was the first public defender to turn to Instagram to speak up for her grandchildren. In an edited post, she said she was frustrated and heartbroken by Ye's words and that "It's hard to remain positive and classy in the face of ignorance and evil." She changed her caption but doubled down on her faith, writing, "But I know that no weapon formed against me or my family shall prosper."

Kanye West's recent social media explosion is only the latest in many controversies that have left him increasingly distant from a former inner circle. He and Jay-Z played nicely with one another for years in music and business, but their relationship soured long ago. This newest attack has likely broken the camel's back, rendering reconciliation nearly impossible.

For Beyoncé and Jay-Z, the safety of their kids comes first. Although they have historically steered clear of going to war in public, this one seems to have pushed them over the edge. If they do decide to pursue a legal case, it may set a new standard in how celebrities react to defamation against the family unit in the modern landscape of the internet.

For now, we wait and see if Ye will be legally punished or if he will, once more, try to double-talk his way out of it. Beyoncé and Jay-Z are no longer letting this pass.
