Does rapper and YouTuber DDG want Halle Bailey to pull a Jonah Hauer-King that is indeed a Hauer-King? It is not! And while he's repeatedly claimed to be unbothered, his most recent response has fans wondering if he is.
While live streaming recently, DDG was caught scrolling through old clips of Bailey and Hauer-King posted by fans who have still been buzzing about their onscreen chemistry. And he wasn't having it.
"Y'all n####s need to stop posting this n####," DDG fumed. "I don't give a f### about this n####. So I can keep deleting: "Stop posting this; it's lame."
The frustration in his tone conveyed more than the words, and though he insisted repeatedly, "I don't care," something about the posts had burrowed into his skin.
This outburst comes at an already emotional time for DDG. Last week, he had explicitly accused Bailey of limiting his time with their son, Halo, claiming that she only permits him to visit for up to 72 hours. Not feeling heard, he doubled down by releasing a track called "Don't Take My Son," previously implying that Bailey was preventing him from seeing their child.
Bailey has remained mute about the allegations, but DDG has not stopped venting over his frustrations. And now, with Hauer-King's name back in the mix, fans are connecting the dots.
For those with long enough memories, this isn't the first time DDG has indicated he's uncomfortable with how Bailey exchanges with her Little Mermaid co-star. As recently as 2023, he dropped the song "Famous," widely seen as a direct response to his jealousy over her Hollywood success. Lyrics such as, "Filmin' a movie now you kissing dudes," and "Why is y'all holdin' hands in the photo? You know I'm insecure, that's a no-no," as though he was either not precisely wild about Bailey's onscreen romance.
DDG's latest reaction has fans calling out his conflicting statements and professing not to care while responding in a manner that implies the contrary. Some supporters can empathize, recognizing that it is never easy to watch your ex move on with someone new in any way. Others feel it's high time DDG moves on and concentrates on his own life rather than who Bailey may or may not be involved with.
Bailey has stayed graceful and quiet through the din, resisting the urge to address DDG's public frustrations. Whether she will eventually speak for herself or continue to let the music and silence do the talking for now, at least, is yet to be known. One thing is sure: DDG might say he's over it, but his reactions tell a different story.
