Fivio Foreign Behind Bars After Allegedly Threatening Woman With Gun

Brooklyn drill star Fivio Foreign is in deep legal trouble after he reportedly threatened a woman with a gun on New Year’s Day in Edgewater, New Jersey. The rapper, whose real name is Maxie Ryles III, has been in custody since Jan. 18 and is being held in a New Jersey jail while the criminal case is pending.

Reports say that the incident occurred after a woman had approached Fivio to help jumpstart her car after it stalled. Rather than help, he allegedly pulled out a gun and gave a warning: “If I see you in front this building again, there’s going to be a f** problem.”

People who observed the rapper, who was identified, quickly alerted the police. Surveillance video from the apartment complex reportedly supports the woman’s claims. As a result, Fivio is now facing several serious charges, including aggravated assault, unlawful weapon possession, and making terroristic threats.

Fivio’s lawyer is pushing back against the accusations, insisting that his client is innocent. The rapper’s defense maintains that no gun was discovered on the rapper and argues that the prosecution’s case is thin. They suspect the charges may be hard to prove in court and contend that Fivio Foreign will be out in a few months.

This, of course, isn’t the first time the “Big Drip” hitmaker has had run-ins with the law. He was arrested in New Jersey in October 2020 on a simple assault charge. In April 2021, the following year, he was further charged with possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, and carrying a defaced firearm.

Fivio Foreign won’t let a little jail time slow down his music grind. Within 48 hours of his arrest, on Jan. 20, 2025, he dropped a new single, “PlaqueBoyMax.” This beat was picked up very quickly by his loyal fanbase, showing the power of this dude in the rap game is still strong.

A month later, on Feb. 20, 2025, he doubled down with another release, “Get Out The Way.” The rapper’s creativity in churning out music from behind bars has generated chatter about his case among fans, some coming to his defense and others questioning his legal woes.

Fivio Foreign remains detained as he awaits the next step in the legal process. Whether his legal team can get him released or if he will in a protracted legal battle remains to be seen. Know this: The case is alive, and the Hip Hop community will be tuned in.
