What was meant to be another charged evening out in the name of Boosie Badazz turned into a pandemonium-filled nightmare as one individual opened fire inside the Field House Lounge in Akron, OH. Famous for high-paced concerts and unfiltered persona, the rapper was involved in yet another violent incident on early Monday morning, March 10, 2025.
Boosie rocked the crowd with his signature style, having the whole place electrified with his delivery. But the atmosphere turned dark just as the night appeared at its zenith. Around 2 a.m., a fight began in the venue, and seconds later, two gunshots pierced the music. Three shots rang out, and panic ensued as concertgoers ran in two directions, uncertain of where the shots had originated or whether others were forthcoming. While all this craziness ensued, Boosie was hastily escorted from the stage to safety.
Three men had been injured in the shooting, authorities have since confirmed. An 18-year-old and a 36-year-old were hospitalized in critical condition, as was a 25-year-old man who had suffered a minor graze wound. The police have not released the names of any of the victims as they continue to investigate the shooting.
Whether any suspects have been identified is unknown, and the motive is unclear. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the Akron Police Department Detective Bureau at 330-375-2490 or to reach out anonymously through Summit County Crimestoppers at 330-434-COPS.
This violent disruption is the latest in troubling incidents involving Boosie Badazz’s performances. His concert in Iowa last August ended in tragedy, and gun violence took the lives of two men. And in May 2021, Boosie narrowly escaped peril while shooting the music clip for “Clutchin” in Huntsville, Ala., when gunfire broke out, sending over a hundred spectators fleeing for shelter.
In light of these harrowing events, Boosie has yet to speak publicly about the Akron shooting. Though the rapper has been in controversy before, the successive bouts of violence at his shows are causing concern for fans and the authorities alike.
For now, police in Akron continue to focus on piecing together what happened the night that changed everything and seeking justice for the women who died. But for the concertgoers who wanted an evening of music and good vibes, the experience will be an indelible one.
