Things got a little real on The Breakfast Club when Jess Hilarious got choked up discussing the drama over her role. The comedian and radio personality got candid about feeling alone since returning from maternity leave and called out her co-hosts for not defending her against online backlash.
Jess opened up about how she felt about things changing within The Breakfast Club team on Wednesday morning's (March 19) episode. She acknowledged that some things have felt "weird" since she returned, specifically related to the continued presence of co-host Loren LoRosa.
"She's only on during my segment," Jess explained. "You know, if she was intended to be a fourth host, move her somehow."
Her frustration wasn't solely with LoRosa's role but with the sense of being unsupported. Jess accused her co-hosts of not standing up for her against online critics and allowing the internet to make her out to be the villain. Charlamagne said God attempted to assuage her, telling her to ignore the noise.
"I'm just worried about the stigma and my reputation from this show," she said, tears rolling down her face as Charlamagne and DJ Envy instructed her to ignore the negativity.
The contentious exchange on air came the day after Jess vented her frustrations on Instagram Live (March 18). In a blistering social media tirade, she expressed disappointment in her colleagues, claiming she had been kept out of the loop regarding Loren LoRosa's participation on the show. She thought she resented LoRosa for the move, but she later concluded that her genuine grievance was related to how the behind-the-scenes management of the show was handled.
To top it off, comedian Corey Holcomb threw shade at Jess after a recent appearance, clapping at her oratory skills on-air.
"They got somebody doing your segment better than you, and there ain't a flaw in the fucker," Holcomb said, throwing shade at Jess. He even aimed her reading abilities and called her "Less Hilarious."
Now abandoned by her team, Jess blasted them for not standing up for her. "We supposed to be a team," she said. "But nobody comes to my defense whatsoever. Ever."
Despite the tension, Jess quickly clarified that she wasn't being fired or planning to leave The Breakfast Club. Despite the heightened emotions, she is resolute in standing and fighting for her place on the show.
With social media blowing up about the situation, fans are divided. Some praise Jess for defending herself, while others say she's overreacting. The Breakfast Club drama isn't going away anytime soon. But for now, our fans are eagerly watching Jess Hilarious as we wait to see the road ahead of this emotional moment.
