Sauce Walka Mourns Sayso P as Police Identify Murder Suspect

As authorities press on in their quest for justice, Houston rapper Sauce Walka still mourns the tragic death of his collaborator and fellow, The Sauce Factory (TSF) signee Sayso P.

On Wednesday (March 26), Memphis PD announced they had identified a suspect in the fatal March 22 downtown Memphis shooting that led to the death of Sayso P and injured Sauce Walka.

An arrest warrant has been signed for 21-year-old Jayden Dandridge, making him the suspect being searched in connection to the shooting that occurred near the Westin Hotel on Lt. George W. Lee Avenue, according to Memphis Police. Investigators also offer a $6,000 reward for information leading up to his arrest.

Dandridge is charged with first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of use of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and auto theft. Authorities also recovered a white 2021 Dodge Charger 392 Scat Pack, a stolen vehicle believed to be involved in the case.

And Memphis Police Chief C.J. Davis credited surveillance footage and investigative work with helping law enforcement quickly assemble key details.

"The homicide unit of the Memphis Police Department has been working diligently and continuously to bring justice for the victims and their families," Davis said in a statement.

Sayso P, whose real name is Letorian Hunt, was only 27 years old when he was killed. The other player, Sauce Walka, a 34-year-old named Albert Mondane, was taken to Regional One Health in noncritical condition, treated, and released.

Since the shooting, Sauce Walka has remained in Memphis to honor Sayso P by visiting sites the artist hoped to see. The rapper shared his feelings on Instagram, admitting he's been roaming around town as a "live memorial."

"Everything in Memphis @sayso___p wanted me to do with him, i stayed 3 days after we lost you to carry out ya wishes," Sauce Walka wrote. "(You gotta eat at 'Smackers Junt' lol) You gotta interview with @wikidfilmssss 🧰 we gotta do the #BoxdIn junt, that's Memphis history. Sauce you gotta go shop at @thesuperiorshop and get some drip and go viral in T shop.. Sauce you gotta hit the Connect Music building in Memphis... Everything you had planned for me I stayed I did that mission no matter the risk. Had to do the mission for you, splatt @sayso___p. Love you, bleed 🩸."

The emotional post reflects the two artists' close connection, and Sauce Walka will ensure Sayso P's legacy in music in Memphis is not left in the dust. As Sauce Walka grieves, law enforcement officials still commit to getting Dandridge behind bars and serving justice. Omarion condemns Sayso P's tragic death as the hip-hop world gets furious.

Today, as one manhunt unfolds and after law enforcement officials have implored members of the public to provide leads, Sayso P's family and friends have to hold out the hope that they will soon find justice after being beset by such a dastardly crime. In the meantime, Sauce Walka makes a heartfelt dedication to making the world aware that Sayso P lives on through those who knew and loved him.
