Star Vision ignites nostalgia with "Running with the Night"

Sweden-based STAR VISION, the brainchild of the dynamic Scott van Dort, is readying an accelerated up, synth-and-guitar fueled Fearless Records-era take on LIONEL RICHIE's 1983 smash "Running with the Night." This daredevil number takes a pinch of '80s AOR and rock-pop and blends it into something modernized and deeply nostalgic.

In "Running with the Night," Scott van Dort and his band take that mission to a different level and one that still holds in a world that demands equal parts innovation and familiarity for songs with age. The newly revamped track is sure to speak to existing fans of the original while also bringing a new audience into the fold with its signature energy.

"Running with the Night" is all about the energy of cruising through neon-lit highways, the wild abandon of youth, and the excitement of living the dream, captured in the real-time adventuring of late-night escapism through STAR VISION. The band's distinct mixture of glimmering synths and triumphant guitar figures sends the track soaring in a new, comfortable direction.

STAR VISION isn't simply surfing the retro revival wave; they're playing a role in creating it. In 2024 the band kicked some more serious ass with a massive EP and an iconic live performance at the Malmö Melodic Fest afterparty, slowly carving out a name for themselves for repackaging nostalgic of tomorrow sounds for consumption today.

"Running with the Night" is a wide-open assault on the core of '80s rock-pop nostalgia. The band embraces the cinematic energy of the era, creating an iteration that is tailor-made for ancient cassette players and present-day playlists. All in all, with this re-release, STAR VISION proves once again that the past is not only to be remembered but to be reimagined.
