Michelle Obama showed a completely unexpected side that the forever calm former First Lady usually keeps under wraps: She's a hardcore fan of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, and not only that, she's a fan of Momma Dee.
The woman who used to front national health campaigns, dance with Ellen and cover Vogue is vibing with some of VH1's most iconic reality TV stars. And honestly, we love to see it.
The disclosure emerged during a new episode of her podcast, 'IMO,' hosted by her brother Craig Robinson. (ITHACA) During an interview with actress Taraji P. Henson, that conversation took a substantial detour into reality TV, and the rest is magic.

Michelle was like, 'What is your favorite reality show?' Taraji didn't miss a beat of Love & Hip Hop all day. All it took was Michelle to be alight and jump in with an energetic "Same, girl!" It may not have been in the exact words she used, but the energy was all the way there.
"Because I know everybody knows a Momma Dee," Henson cracked, referring to the brash matriarch who has become a fixture on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. Michelle laughed and said, "Hell yeah," before concluding, "You'd have to be lying to say otherwise."
We love a good truth bomb, particularly from someone usually so polished. That peek behind the curtain makes her, for a moment, the cool aunt who always has the best snacks and can quote Cardi B.
And don't get it twisted, but this is not some ironic fandom. Michelle loves the escapist balm TV provides. "I told my husband, I was like, 'You watch golf, I watch unscripted,'" she said. "It gives me, I don't know, it's like it settles me down."
Taraji said much of the same, but she brought it back to something more meaningful. "'The Blackness in us' tuner into the call-and-response energy," she said, noting how both women end up shouting at the screen in agreement with the drama, the ridiculousness, and the realness of it all.
So the next time you're binging Love & Hip Hop with one hand in a snack bowl and your jaw on the floor, know that Michelle Obama may be right there, too. Screaming "Yes, Momma Dee!" at the TV like the rest of us.
