In the second weekend of Coachella, Megan Thee Stallion left Slim Thug a little easygoing shade, apparently squashing his jokey new theory that she might be feeling him since she vibes to his music in the moment, in concert. But instead of stewing silently or clapping back, Slim Thug offered the most Slim Thug response ever: a grin, a laugh, and a thanks for the shout-out.

Rather than allowing Megan’s on-stage comment when she said she didn’t want him to bum him out, the Houston OG flipped it and made it a moment for self-assessment and triumph.
“She shouted me out, said my name from the Coachella stage,” he said proudly. “And then she called me babe. Come on now, that’s a lot.”
It might seem like a comfort prize to some, but Slim’s taking it as a victory. His song “Thug From Around the Way” received a spiking; if we’re honest, Megan could have chosen any song to shake it to, but instead, she decided on Slim’s.
“That was a nice shout out,” he added. “Played my songs, everything. Streams up… we good. We love all that, man.”
In a moment when most other artists would have been mad or dropped a disrespectful comment, Slim Thug kept it cool, calm, and almost complimentary. You don’t see that kind of grace often in the public eye, with millions more people watching on social media.
Slim tied it together with a nod to the future: “I’ma be patient, man. Gotta come home. Slim ain’t going nowhere.”
Whether that “home” is symbolic or he’s just pinning his hopes on a Megan moment in the new decade, Slim Thug is in it for the long haul.
