Tsu Surf Sends a Signal from the Cell, 'Be Home in a Second'

The Newark battle rap titan Tsu Surf has unleashed an upbeat update from behind the wall that reminds fans that while he's physically locked down, his impact on the culture is being felt loud and clear.

Surf made waves from his vantage point behind federal prison bars, where he is serving time on racketeering and gun charges. His announcement didn't come courtesy of a run-of-the-mill press release or social media post–it came courtesy of a poignant billboard tribute inspired by Mozzy's latest album, 'Intrusive Thoughts.' Icily lit, the billboard reads, "This message is brought to you by Mozzy. Free Surf."

Along with it, Tsu Surf poured in his spice, penning: "FREE ME TIL ITS BACKWARD. BE HOME IN A SECOND. DON'T BLINK."

The timing coincides with the single "FREE SURF," 'Mozzy,' a track from Mozzy's album featuring the man Surf himself. Even more impressive? The verse was recorded ripping the verse and despite behind bars as proof that ain't no stopping creativity and hustle.

The pair haven't linked up on wax since they released their joint album 'Blood Cuzzins in 2019,' packed with guest appearances from Boosie Badazz, Styles P, and 42 Dugg. That project offered fans a reckless, uncut look at two artists trained in the same no-holds-barred method: raw, honest, and defiantly authentic.

Now, with "FREE SURF," they jump right back in. The track arrived with an official visualizer on YouTube, so fans had something to hear and feel.

Tsu Surf's update is not a prison check-in but a flare (a slight recap by Brian B. Dot Miller), a reminder that he's not forgotten, fading, or done. His texts, "Be home in a second. "Don't blink." has a specific weight that comes only from someone who has lived it.

Surf is making numbers off the strength of his verses and billboards and generating enough buzz to keep his name ringing in the bars and the streets. And when he says, "Don't blink," you should pay attention. When Tsu Surf comes home, it won't simply be a comeback; it will be a moment.
