Young Scooter's Son Blasts Atlanta Police Over Rapper's Shocking Death, "My Best Friend Gone"

When Atlanta rapper Young Scooter died under bizarre and troubling circumstances on his 39th birthday, he was allegedly trying to escape from officers of the Atlanta Police Department when he sustained a leg injury, which later appeared to contribute to his death. But for many, the one offered by authorities doesn't quite add up, especially for his son, Kenneth Bailey Jr.

Kenneth Jr. went to Instagram to express his heartbreak and frustration and plead that he does not believe the official story. "F### APD," he wrote bluntly in his posts on Instagram Stories. The anguish in his voice was palpable as he recounted how officers had supposedly dealt with the matter, saying that they withheld information about his father's condition.

"Police or not, ain have no understanding bout you," he added. "Pulled up straight ain't give a f### bout no handcuffs on me. Well, just wanted to make sure you good dat I kept askin and they hoe ass kept lyin. Damn my best friend gone."

The loss of a loved one is always tragic, but when someone passes away in such an unexpected and unclear fashion, the emotions can often be confusing. For Kenneth Jr., this was the loss of his best friend, father, and guiding force.

The post also contained a promise he defined as his sense of duty despite his heartbreak: to "manned up" for his family the way his father would have wanted. "Happy birthday, too. I know what to do, fasho, though you know I got my sisters and brothers. They're overly good, and you son's a Hustle just like you."

It was unclear what led to Young Scooter's final moments. Lt. Andrew Smith, the Atlanta police homicide commander, said the leg injury was the one that killed the rapper, but that leaves more questions than answers. How would a leg injury be fatal unless there were serious complications? Why was he even running there, to begin with? And why did his son think there's more to the story than what's being said?

These are the questions now hovering around Young Scooter's death, and the calls for clarity are getting louder. Of course, fans and loved ones are searching for answers and mourning the loss of an artist who impacted the Atlanta rap scene.

For Kenneth Jr., His father is dead, and as he sees it, the Atlanta Police Department played a direct role in the way things went down. Regardless of whether more details come to light, Young Scooter's legacy will endure, and his son is ensuring this.
