50 Cent Breaks the Silence, "I Am NOT Gang Gang" Shuts Down Smurf Link Amid UK Asylum Drama

Rap legend and entrepreneur Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson wasted no time making it crystal clear that he has zero interest in the commotion that seems to be centered around former G-Unit affiliate Bang Em Smurf, particularly after a British tabloid got a taste of his name.

50 hopped on Instagram and posted a screenshot from 'The Sun with shots of Daniel Calliste,' the man popularly known in hip-hop circles as Bang Em Smurf, seeking asylum in the UK. Smurf arrived in the UK earlier this year, citing gang threats from his home country of Trinidad as the reason for the plea, according to the report.

Smurf's claim has generated a lot of buzz across the pond. And a second, while Smurf's application is being processed, a fact that's added more fuel to an already raging political fire in the UK. But for 50 Cent, it's not a political matter but a question of exoneration. He made no bones about cutting ties with his old friend in his Instagram post.

"This is my name as well, and I hate that it's attached to this," he wrote. No relationship to gangs in no way, shape, or form." I AM NOT GANG GANG!"

He added the famous mic-drop moment 50 Cent made to emphasize the point: "And to you tough guys, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY."

50 and Bang Em Smurf have a history that dates back to the old G-Unit days, the original crew that ascended to power in the early 2000s. But 50 says those ties were long ago cut. "23 years," he stressed, making clear just how disconnected he is from Smurf and whatever heavy load he's carrying with him now.

Smurf, meanwhile, has already made a name for himself across the UK in the last few months. Apart from his asylum claims, he popped up on various podcasts and even posed for a photograph in the historic Houses of Parliament, claiming to be with members of the British aristocracy. The scenario is a bizarre cross between hip-hop history, international politics, and reality TV-level plot twists.

But 50 has been too busy building empires, from television to tequila, to entertain any throwback headlines connecting him with old flames and faded affiliations.

This isn't 2002, and 50 Cent isn't here for the gossip. Whether you love the music, the man, or the mogul. When 50 speaks, he means it. And if you're trying to drag his name through your story? You better think twice.
