This week, 50 Cent lit up the gram again, cooking none other than Sean “Diddy” Combs with a series of blistering posts that had fans in a tizzy. It all began when prosecutors released photos of Kid Cudi’s decimated Porsche, which was reportedly set ablaze in 2012 after being firebombed with a Molotov cocktail. While the arson is believed to have been at the hands of Diddy in court papers discussing his latest legal drama, let’s just say 50 wasn’t able to help but pour gasoline on the fire, both literally and figuratively.
“Old school s### Molotov Diddy was doing out here,” 50 penned on Instagram with the caption, alongside pictures of the charred shell-of-a-car once driven by Cudi. It was a vintage Fif jab sharp, sarcastic, and timed for maximum internet explosion.
But he wasn’t done roasting Diddy. In a subsequent post, 50 alluded to an upsetting allegation from trial testimony: that Diddy once broke into Kid Cudi’s house and tampered with Cudi’s dog after he learned Cudi was dating Cassie Ventura.
“What the f### did Diddy do to Cudi Dog,” wrote 50, who was still shocked. “OVER the girl, Man? LOL”
And just as fans were sure he was about to let up, 50 pivoted and fired back at Kid Cudi directly. He shared a meme of Cudi in a wedding dress, veil, and blazer, an outfit Cudi notoriously wore to the 2021 CFDA Awards.
“Kid Cudi gonna testify like, I’m on your ass now Diddy. NO PRETENDING YOU DIDN’T DO IT NOW! YA DID IT! LOL”
The meme also included Cudi himself flipping off the camera in a touch that brought a salty kick to an open wound just days before the rapper was set to take the stand in Diddy’s federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial.
It’s easy to hand-wave this away as 50 is 50, but an unmistakable tension is brewing beneath the surface. These are not playful roasts but barbed responses to a serious and alarming case in the public eye. Yet, in classic internet style, the drama is consumed in meme-sized chunks.
Whether you view him as a truth-teller or a master instigator, 50 Cent has reminded us once more that his trolling game is in top shape, and he’s far from finished. The story has continued to play out in court, so don’t be surprised if 50 keeps fanning the flames, one meme at a time.
