Drake’s Silent Flex Shakes the Charts, 10 Diamond Hits Make RIAA History

The Toronto rapper made music history in the way only Drake could: quietly, by ceding the title of the most Diamond-certified artist in the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) history. Now that two more tracks, “Hold On, We’re Going Home” and “Best I Ever Had,” have crossed the 10x Platinum threshold, he has a staggering 10 titles.

We’re talking about a list that already features “God’s Plan,” “One Dance,” “SICKO MODE” with Travis Scott, “Life Is Good” with Future, “No Guidance” with Chris Brown and “Love Me” with Lil Wayne. Now flank it with those two timeless bangers he notched early in his career, and you’ve got a decade-spanning depiction of dominance that looks almost unreal.

This was according to the RIAA, who said it themselves: “ Drake has more RIAA Diamond Certifications than any artist in history.”

Drake overtook legends such as Garth Brooks and Post Malone, who have nine Diamond plaques. Drake didn’t just win the game but changed the rules. He’s also the first artist to reach double digits in Diamond certifications for singles and albums.

And how did he react to this bonkers milestone? In the most Drake manner, Drake was doing what he could with no caption, posting quietly to his Instagram Story. No victory lap, no press run. It’s the digital mic drop, and then you walk off stage, and you’re still right there.

This record-breaking news comes just a few days after Drake surprised the audience with an appearance at Central Cee’s Toronto show on Saturday, May 24. And like the showman he is, he did not leave without a final bombshell of his own:

“By the way, I’ll see you this summer,” he informed the crowd. “OVO Fest is coming back this summer.” He looked up at Central Cee and said, “We’ll need you there for that.”

OVO Fest, launched in 2010, hasn’t taken the stage since its epic 2022 edition, which was a Young Money reunion with Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne together again. No lineup, dates, or venue has been announced, but anticipation is high. Fans have realized that when Drake says something, it’s no empty platitude but a moment in the making. Drake isn’t just charting above others but altering their history and keeping quiet about it.
