Halle Bailey Seeks Protection from DDG After Violent Allegations

Singer and actress Halle Bailey has filed a restraining order against rapper DDG and her baby’s father, Halo. The move was motivated by a series of alleged violent and invasive incidents that Bailey says have left her both physically and emotionally shaken.

According to court docs obtained by TMZ, Bailey detailed a scary incident that occurred this January, a few months after their relationship fell apart in October 2024. What was intended to be a standard child exchange became a terrifying ordeal.

Bailey said that while she was buckling Halo into his car seat, Bailey said an argument began over visitation. DDG, she claims, grew more aggressive, screaming over and over at her to “get out of my car, b####.” “Trying as hard as I can to keep my composure both for the sake of my hysterically crying son and because I’m missing a newborn at home, I refuse, and she opened the door and proceeded to swing,” Bailey says she wrote, trying to play down the situation, but things got violent. She accuses DDG of pulling her hair, bashing her face into the steering wheel, and chipping her tooth.

Shaken and bruised and crying, Bailey says she stayed in the car to see if her son was all right. She reportedly told his family what happened when they got to DDG’s home. They promised to take care of the baby, and Bailey departed hysterical, wounded, and with evident bruising and a broken tooth. She mentioned the photographic proof of these injuries in her restraining order filing.

Bailey also recounted a frightening experience from March when DDG purportedly came into her house without permission and walked into her bedroom before sending her a photo of her empty bed. The text, which read: “now I know what u bee on [sic] lol,” was taken by Bailey to be an accusation of infidelity.

Just days after that, there was another exchange, The Times reported. Bailey says that when she informed DDG that both she and their baby were ill and unable to accommodate a visit, he raised his voice, smashed her Ring camera, and seized her phone. As he drove away, she claims, he threw my phone out of the window and yelled, “Go get it b####.

That incident, Bailey says, was the last straw. She filed a report with the police and turned Ring camera footage over as evidence. In return, she was issued a domestic violence restraining order that ordered DDG to remain at least 100 yards away from her.

The court has also allowed Bailey to take Halo to Italy for two months while she shoots a new film, presumably both a work trip and a chance for everyone involved to cool their heels. The judge also ruled that DDG must not release or livestream anything related to Bailey or their child on the internet after she alleged his remarks led to harassment from his fan base.

As the case continues to play out, it’s a sobering reminder that people in the public eye for all the Hollywood glamour and tabloid bubble are not immune from the ugly truths of abusive relationships.
