Tom Cruise Sets His Sights on Teaming Up with Michael B. Jordan

Tom Cruise has thrown himself out of planes, hung from the sides of jets, and saved the planet more times than we can count, but now, he's moving on to take a crack at something entirely new: sharing the screen with Michael B. Jordan.

Cruise revealed at the New York premiere of Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning that he's willing to take Sinners to the screen, a move that's left film industry fans in a frenzy. And this isn't a casual mention; Cruise has been scheming this collaboration for years.

"I'm a huge fan of his, huge fan of what he and director Ryan Coogler do together," Cruise said on the red carpet. "Great film, great film. I urge everyone in the country to see that picture often. You know, you want to see it big?

He's referring to "Sinners," Jordan's supernatural thriller, which has become a towering smash hit at the box office, with $320 million in counting and a budget of $90 million. Directed by Ryan Coogler, with Jordan serving as its lightning rod, the film is among the top earners of 2025 and currently stands at No.

And he didn't just talk the talk; Cruise shelled out to see 'Sinners' in theaters himself, sharing a photo of the moment like a full-blown fanboy. "Congrats, Ryan, Michael and the whole cast and crew," he wrote online.

Michael B. Jordan wouldn't let that kind of praise go unremarked. Last week, he appeared unexpectedly in London for the premiere of Mission Impossible, where he posted a video of him and Cruise along with a heartwarming caption: "I was too young to watch the first Mission Impossible film in the cinema, but now I get the chance to watch the final one… in IMAX!!!! Much love, @tomcruise."

Although no formal announcements have been made, it seems Cruise is already visualizing a big-screen team-up featuring Jordan. "It's already out there," he said. "Years ago when I first came into contact with him, I was like, 'I want to make movies with this guy.'"

For those who love action, charisma, and cinematic spectacle, the thought of Cruise and Jordan sharing the screen sounds like a movie dream begging to be realized. Whether it's a high-octane thriller or a mind-bending sci-fi epic, the potential chemistry between these two acting powerhouses could be explosive.

Until then, we'll have to make do with the mutual admiration society. But given Cruise's history of getting things done, maybe we won't be left waiting in the wings for this dream team-up for too much longer. Because when Tom Cruise wants something, he often gets it even if he has to do it from 30,000 feet up.
