Moriah Mills, the adult film actress trying to take her complaints about NBA star Zion Williamson to court in the latest bizarre celebrity news turn, reportedly won’t be going into a legal battle armed with Tony Buzbee. Buzbee, a legal heavyweight who’s made a name for himself by taking on big-name, high-stakes lawsuits (he filed over 50 against Diddy alone and has an ongoing kerfuffle with JAY-Z), confirmed that he and his team will decline to represent Mills in a civil suit against the New Orleans Pelicans forward.
The development comes after Mills contacted Buzbee’s office to consider taking legal action tied to a former relationship with Williamson, which made headlines a few years ago when Mills alleged that Williamson was romantically involved with her right before publicly announcing that he was expecting a child with another woman. Mills has previously said she was subjected to continued harassment and emotional damage after the relationship ended.
“We cannot comment about the specifics of her allegations or claim regarding the allegations,” he told TMZ. As you know, we receive requests from thousands of people around the US daily, and We can’t help them all.”
Buzbee’s legal radar is typically fixed on cases with severe heat, which make headlines and lead to courtroom wins. His firm was celebrating a blockbuster $640 million jury verdict only a few weeks ago. So, should he let this one die? It’s notable.
While he did not explain exactly why his firm deigned to walk away, those left to speculate have been questioning whether Mills’ allegations simply didn’t have the legal goods to sustain them or if it’s just that Buzbee is picking his fights better these days. Either way, it’s a firm “no” from one of the toughest attorneys in the business.
Mills, who had visibly choked back tears in an emotional video she shared on social media, said: “Everyone is entitled to the right to be heard, and I just pray that for me and any other victim, I hope we all get justice.
Those earlier social media flare-ups generated headlines but never resulted in court filings, and it appears that won’t be happening anytime soon, at least as long as Buzbee is handling the matter.
Williamson, meanwhile, is facing a far more serious legal firestorm. Another woman, who goes by Jane Doe, has sued him, claiming years of sexual abuse accusations he’s vehemently denied.
For the time being, Mills is looking for new legal representation, and Buzbee effectively ends this saga. In the realm of public accusation and private litigation, this story is another reminder that not every headline has a courtroom sequel.
