The Queen Tems Claps Back with Grace and Fires "Move On From My Bum"

The Nigerian songstress, who is famous for her soul-stirring vocals and effortlessly cool vibes, just served up a timely reminder to the internet that she is not here for the body-shaming bullshit. But after seven years of being in the public eye, Tems had had enough when some (Twitter now X) users felt they had the right to dissect her body like it was a scientific specimen.

The offending comment? "Real one know she ain't had ass she had the big lumps," goes another of the song's verses. Huh?? The audacity! The ignorance! This individual indeed dropped their "real one" card with the unsolicited hot take, and Tems was not about to let it drop.

She responded with a post that ought to be printed, framed and hung on the wall of every woman who has ever complained on the internet.

"Okay 7 years in. It's time to pack it up. I never thought I'd have to say this but you are all strange. 'It's little, it's flat, it's fat.' Dog ITS MINE. 'Show us your bumbum' lol SO I will turn around and say 'see' Ah ah show ME first?? See how that feels?"

Tems has always made it clear that she's never been one to hide her body or perform in a way that fits anyone else's agenda. "I simply didn't feel it necessary to prove or disprove anybody there. The more you hate my body, the better for me. But it's enough now. Move on from my bum."

Fans, peers, and good souls raced to show her love and appreciation. When it comes down to it, Tems has been beautiful musically, emotionally, spiritually, and physically all along. This woman has a talent, a presence, and a confidence I've never seen before. And the way she stood up for herself with such poise and clarity? And that is what makes her a real one.

Even her manager, Muniwa Awoniyi, can't resist throwing a truth bomb at her: "They don't have a single sense on this app. Not even half a sense."

Tems has always been vocal about loving her body and embracing it the way it is. Why are you natural? "I love being curvy. I'm so glad that I've got a little booty, you know what I'm saying?"

Tems: Unpacking the Rising Star Courted By Vogue At 29, Tems isn't just breaking charts but breaking stereotypes and pushing back against outdated beauty standards with the kind of grace she can bring. She's not here to fulfill your fantasy but to be herself.
