Among the big names reported to have attended Jeff Bezos' three-day wedding blowout in Venice, Italy, were Kim Kardashian and Orlando Bloom; however, Mariah's name was nowhere to be found on the guest list or at the event. Either way, the actual headline here is not searingly profitable billionaire nuptials. It's Mariah's ice-cold, razor-sharp response that manages to say everything by saying hardly anything at all.
Not that anyone's expecting one, and Carey's camp has yet to issue any official response. When you're Mariah Carey, you don't necessarily need to explain yourself. The moment doesn't need any words, and the internet is laughing its ass off, quoting, sharing, and quoting again.
In a world populated by try-hard clout chasers and over-sharing celebs, Mariah's incredible apathy is downright refreshing. She does not need to attend every party, and she surely does not need to be the hostess to every question. She coined a new catchphrase and proved, once and for all, that true diva energy never goes out of style.
So the next time you're asked about an event you care absolutely nothing about, be like Mariah and say it with your whole chest: "I wasn't there."
