In an ugly and highly personal family feud that ended up in court, Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez is now seeking to have her very own daughter, Demoree Hadley, held in contempt of court, also in Florida. The reason is a viral interview, a contested Instagram post, and what Roc Nation is calling a "firestorm" of online threats.
This all began when Hadley filed her bombshell lawsuit in May of 2025. She accused her mother as well as Roc Nation of exploiting their insider connections to have her forcibly committed under Florida's Baker and Marchman Acts. She also claimed that Perez falsely accused her of being suicidal and struggling with drug addiction to have her held for more than two weeks, serious allegations and ones that quickly attracted attention.

Roc Nation, in turn, filed its lawsuit, which received a sweeping court order that even barred Hadley and her husband from making public statements about the case. That meant no interviews, no cryptic Instagram captions, and most certainly no back-and-forths in the online world.
Hadley recently sat down with YouTuber Tasha K – a widely criticized YouTuber known for the story she induced and spilled her side of the story, according to court documents. That video subsequently surfaced on Hadley's Instagram account, and it was done intentionally, according to Roc Nation.
Hadley says it was an innocent error and claims Tasha K tagged her as a "collaborator" on the post, which automatically caused the post to appear on her page, and that she deleted it the same day. But Roc Nation isn't going for the "oops" defense. They're even using calculated support for public opinion and ramping up the pressure.
"There is no way it could have been posted to her account unless Demoree chose to post it," Roc Nation argued in court papers.
Roc Nation claims both Desiree Perez and her attorneys have been served with thousands of threatening messages since the interview was published. The company attributes the reapplied harassment solely to Hadley and her husband's social media use.
And as though it wasn't complex enough yet, there's a new factor to the equation, Nicki Minaj, who recently publicly sided with Hadley and went so far as to claim these same tactics had been used on her by Roc Nation.
Now, Roc Nation is asking the court to hold Hadley in contempt, arguing that she has broken the judge's order not to comment. If the court concurs, Hadley could be held in contempt or subjected to other legal action, though no decision has been made yet.
From allegations of involuntary psychiatric holds to viral interviews and celebrity commentary, this saga straddles the divide between legal drama and online spectacle. The courthouse isn't the only place this fight is being played out.
