Siklu paints soundscapes with precision on new EP "VISIONS"

Norway newcomer Siklu steps out of the quietude of Ulstein with his confident debut EP "VISIONS." At just over nine minutes, this five-track effort is more than a set of songs but a snapshot of time: of emotions, grit, and personal growth. "VISIONS" is a personal manifesto posing as an EP, as brazen in its brevity as it is rich in purpose. It's an experiment rooted in feelings, ambition, and authenticity.

Written, produced, and composed exclusively in FL Studio and a personal keyboard, "VISIONS" flourishes in its simplicity, delivering pared-back production that packs a punch. They waste no time with the lead single, "Guns Up," which is quick, pointed, and memorable, blasting you with something a little different from what you're likely to find in most mainstream music today. Shortness is its strength, and its bold production dictates the sound of the rest of the EP.

Siklu channels the DNA of trendsetters including Kanye West, Travis Scott, and Mike Dean but carves out a lane that's thoroughly his own. The EP moves nimbly through moods and textures, from the edge-of-your-seat energy of "Guns Up" to the emotional heft of standout moments like "Can't Get Enough" and "When We're Together." These moments expose the artist's pensive side, tinged with gratitude and longing.

The beats may be spare, but the feelings run deep. Siklu is more than a lyricist; he's a painter of feelings. Every track is a vignette, a tiny window into interior struggles, midnight ruminations, and hopeful dreams of what might be next. There's a feeling this is only the start for an artist unafraid to challenge himself creatively. 2025 is underway, and anticipation for "VISIONS 2" is already building. Currently, the man is indeed a visionary in every sense of the word.
