Brooklyn drill rapper Sheff G is staring down a five-year prison sentence, but before trading stages for cell bars, he's letting the world and especially his girl know precisely where his heart lies. Real name Michael Williams, Sheff G took to Instagram to share an emotional post just days before turning himself in on August 13. The rapper, known for his gritty bars and street-born anthems, revealed a softer side as he reflected on love, growth, and the mistakes that had led him to this point.
"Throughout all our ups and downs I learned how to become a better man, you taught me and walk me through so many things in such a short time," he wrote beside a photo of him embracing his girlfriend. "I love you more than everything baby girl."

It's a raw and vulnerable moment from a man often cast in shadows—both musically and legally. Facing prison time after pleading guilty to attempted murder and conspiracy charges connected to a sprawling gang indictment, Sheff G seems to be taking ownership of his past while clinging tightly to the parts of his life that still bring light.
"Everybody make mistakes in this world," he added. "And I can't believe I would be the one to make the mistake of losing you. You my heart, my other half, and I'll do anything to see you happy and living, loving life."
His five-year sentence stems from a sweeping 140-count indictment involving 32 people, tying the 8 Trey Crips and 9 Ways crews to a series of violent shootings across Brooklyn between 2019 and 2023. While Sheff G wasn't accused of firing any shots himself, prosecutors claimed he played a significant role in helping plan the violence and even rewarding shooters with meals, including a steakhouse celebration after a fatal 2020 hit.
It could've been worse. Initially facing a possible 20-year sentence, Sheff G accepted a plea deal of five years in prison, plus five years of post-release supervision. With his sentencing date set for August 13, he made the rare choice to surrender early.
In a recent sit-down with Fox 5's Lisa Evers, the 25-year-old rapper opened up about the reality of preparing for time behind bars. "That's very hard to prepare for," he said, candidly. "But it's like you build, and you build, and you put the right things in place and the right people in place, and you hope for the worst I mean the best."
Seventeen others tied to the indictment have already pleaded guilty. Fourteen cases remain open, including one for Sheff G's longtime friend and fellow Brooklyn rapper, Sleepy Hallow.
As the countdown begins for Sheff G's surrender, fans are watching a man caught between two worlds: the streets that raised him and the future he's still trying to claim. Mistakes were made, but in his own words, there's still room to grow and maybe even to redeem.
