J'mall pulled into life beyond the surface with "Peripheral"

Birmingham artist J'mall shares his return single "Peripheral", the first track from his upcoming LP "More That Meets The Eye" due on November 7th, 2025. From the first phrase, it's obvious J'mall isn't interested in your wave chasing, he's here to make you think. "Peripheral" is a lyrical master class in introspection.

J'mall creates a soundscape that's simultaneously smooth and hard-hitting, featuring fish scale fare bars over beats that are intimate yet expansive. The song's story not only scratches the surface but also delves into life's subtleties, self-awareness, wisdom, growth, and the irreplaceable value of family. As flash and materialism rule the day, J'mall's emphasis on substance is not only refreshing but needed.

"Peripheral" encourages listeners to reflect on themselves and notice the parts of life they may have overlooked but are most important. The viscerally powerful single sets a high bar for what can be expected from "More That Meets The Eye," promising depth, honesty, and, like the track itself, hip-hop that lingers long after the final note has died out. With "Peripheral", J'mall shows he's a thinker, poet, and modern storyteller prepared to find a room for himself in the hip-hop arena.
