MELŌ elevates their sound with an epic collaboration in title track “HiLo”

The title track of MELŌ's new concept EP, "HiLo," is a bold centerpiece that creates a vivid, cinematic soundscape that won't stop moving. Zakkary Hale, Jordan Davis, and Mikey Collard, who used to be in the band Melodramus, are now in this group. For this project, they take their usual mix of metal, rock, and pop and make it sound much bigger and more orchestral. The project is enhanced by the contributions of composer Gavin McMahan and the renowned Budapest Scoring Orchestra.

"HiLo" is both the anchor and the spark of the EP. The instrumental breaks that are woven into the project act like connective tissue, letting this track move forward with power while still being a smooth part of the whole. MELŌ takes listeners on a journey through highs and lows of intensity, which is a reflection of the emotional contrast in the title.

The most important thing is the feeling of intention. It doesn't feel like anything here is by chance, not the orchestral swells that make the heavier parts better or the melodic shifts that soften them. "HiLo" sounds like a band pushing the limits of their sound while still paying homage to the music that shaped them. It has big goals without being self-indulgent, it's polished without losing its edge, and it's cinematic without losing its human pulse.

"HiLo" is the EP's defining song. It sets the bar high by promising listeners an experience based on movement, emotion, and fearless musical exploration. MELŌ isn't just putting out songs, but they're creating worlds, and "HiLo" is the door to one of them. "HiLo" reaches a level of grandeur that feels intentional without losing the emotional core of the band's identity.
