A Project Called Love explores identity and connection on "Smack Dab In The Middle"

Led by Jay Hope, the music project A Project Called Love has released its three-track release "Smack Dab In The Middle." This track strikes a balance between musical freedom and deeply personal narrative. Created in Cologne, Germany in partnership with producer Julian Schneid, the production breaks away from traditional rock instrumentation, integrating diverse timbres including cello and DJ scratching to craft a convincing, familiar yet fresh auditory texture.

The album’s eponymous lead single "Smack Dab In The Middle" is the emotional and philosophical core of the entire release. It explores humanity’s place in the vastness of existence, blending the determined texture of grunge rock, reggae rhythms, punk energy, and the melodic sensitivity of pop music, to construct a tension-filled backdrop for meditative, spiritual self-exploration. It is conceptually substantial while retaining consistent propulsive forward momentum.

The three accompanying tracks deepen the project’s emotional breadth at its core: "So Sublime" unfolds a pure, tender yet unwavering devotion, "Cold Ashes" captures the lingering aftermath of intense regret, and the three works, including "Smack Dab In The Middle" link together to form a coherent narrative, realizing the project’s core creative proposition through a unique artistic expression.
