Baïki explores satirical sci-fi reflection in "KosmoX"

Belgian underground music project Baïki recently released its new French-language indie rock single "KosmoX." Phil, the project’s lead creator from Meile, has consistently centered his work on narrative, combining storytelling and sharp social commentary. The new single adopts a sci-fi perspective infused with black humor to probe whether humanity can overcome its innate combat instinct without relying on a fictional extraterrestrial enemy.

This satirical work by Baïki, which blends science fiction imagery, uses playful sci-fi symbols to expose the hidden concerns of human collective behavior. Its French lyrics employ gentle irony to mock the conflicts, wars, and nationalism spawned by centuries of self-interest. While retaining its signature indie rock style, the work also breaks conventional boundaries to guide listeners to reflect on the social logic of creating enemies.

Led by Baïki, "KosmoX" uses black humor to strike a balance between playful expression and social critique. The song adheres to creating narrative rock and employs satirical cosmic narratives to reflect on social division and the state of humanity maintaining collective unity through fabricated conflicts. This has cemented its position in Belgium’s independent music scene as an act that combines both social awareness and creative boldness.
