Hate At First Sight takes a stylistic step forward with “Did You Notice?” following their debut track “Baseline.” The release is an interesting evolution, embracing a more experimental palette and confidently moving toward a hyper-pop-meets-dark-wave aesthetic. It’s a track less about comfort and more about exploring what happens when atmosphere, texture, and vocal treatment take center stage in the listening experience.
The record has a distinctly modern edge, with heavy use of processed synthesizers, and atmospheric vocal reverbs create a sense of distance and dizziness. That combination makes for a disorienting, in the best way possible, immersive sonic character to the production. Hate At First Sight uses this release to expand their creative vocabulary and demonstrate that their identity is still in development.
