Sacha Mullin finds new dimensions in modern pop through “Social Touch”

Sacha Mullin is a Chicago-based singer-songwriter and multi-genre artist whose fourth solo album, "Social Touch," marks a new chapter in his creative life and an intriguing extension of a career built on experimentation, emotional depth, and careful craftsmanship. Produced by William Parker Wood, the ten-song set places Mullin's varied musical background in a more straightforward pop context without losing the adventurous spirit that sets his work apart.

"Social Touch" at 40:37 is the work of an artist who is committed to growth, not repetition. Inspired by pop, jazz, rock, and experimental music, Mullin creates a project that balances the accessibility of his previous releases with the creative freedom he's always pursued. The result is a significant milestone in his artistic evolution, with emotionally charged songwriting at the center of a broader musical vision.

"Joy" opens the album, followed by "Don't Wanna Hurt U" and "Hypocenter," the latter featuring returning collaborator Emily Bindiger.  "Hypocenter" sets the tone for the new direction and highlights Mullin and Bindiger's creative partnership. Next comes "Mime," followed by the title track "Social Touch," which anchors the collection. Next come "Tears Into Platinum" and "Odd Radio Circle," then the two bonus tracks, "Let's Cruise!" and "Tall Ask," which take the album beyond its eight main songs.

Mullin's broader creative history also reflects a dedication to collaboration. His past recording history included engineer Gabriel Riccio and vocalists Emily Bindiger, Judi Vinar, Annmarie Cullen and Mem Nahadr. Sacha Mullin's "Social Touch" is a new expression of an evolving musical identity. He embraces a more immediate pop context while retaining the exploratory instincts that make his work unique. Another confident step forward for an artist whose creative journey keeps taking unexpected turns.
