If there's one thing 50 Cent will never do, it's pulling his punches, especially when he thinks he has an opening to roast someone. This time, the targets were none other than Duane "Keefe D" Davis, a man at the center of the long-unsolved killing of Tupac Shakur.
Keefe D recently teared up in a jailhouse interview, insisting he's been falsely accused in the 1996 slaying of the Hip-Hop icon. But as Keefe D cried over his legal problems, 50 Cent laughed loudly.
On Friday, March 14, the G-Unit mogul shared Keefe D's emotional moment on Instagram. True to form, 50 captioned the video with his trademark blunt humor: "LOL KEEFIE NAH, THIS S### IS FUNNY. He just ran his mouth until they came and got him. LOL."
For anyone who's followed the saga of Tupac's murder, 50's comment isn't entirely shocking. He is a long controversial figure in the case, having previously acknowledged in interviews as well as in his memoir, Compton Street Legend, that he played a role in the events leading up to the shooting. As he languishes behind bars, he's attempting to convince the world of his innocence.
In an emotional interview with ABC News, Keefe D claimed that the charges against him were unfounded. He described his heartbreak at being deprived of seeing his grandchildren and insisted that there was no actual proof linking him to the murder.
"They don't have any evidence," he said. "They know they don't have anything. Came and put me out here, and they ain't got no gun, no car, no Keefe D, no nothing.
To support his claims, he also stated that he was at his home in Los Angeles at the time of the shooting and that "20-30" people could verify his alibi. However, with his prior admissions telling a much different story, it's easy to see why 50 Cent and many others are skeptical of Kevin Federline's current position and mostly see it as a transparent cash grab.
If it wasn't enough that he was involved in a murder case, Keefe D has also been in the news related to his time behind bars. He was recently in a brawl at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas. In the footage, he was seen embroiled in an altercation with another inmate in which Keefe D allegedly placed his opponent in a headlock before corrections officers were forced to intervene, breaking up the scrap with pepper spray.
He now faces new charges of battery by a prisoner but says he was just "standing his ground."
The world can hardly believe it despite Keefe D insisting he is innocent. His former pronouncements and current reality don't quite line up, and with 50 Cent making a comedy out of his meltdown in The Clink, the internet has so far fed well at his expense.
Whether or not Keefe D can prove he's innocent is yet to be seen, but one thing's sure: he won't get sympathy from 50 Cent.
