The drama of BMF isn’t confined to television but spills into reality. Michael Rainey Jr. spared no feelings for his co-star Lil Meech as the Starz hit series remains controversial. And if anyone were hoping he would play peacekeeper, his latest Instagram Live session squashed that real fast.
Rainey took to Instagram Live over the weekend, and a fan inquired whether Rainey felt bad for Lil Meech, who has become embroiled in tensions with executive producer 50 Cent. Rainey did not mince words, answering, “Do I feel bad for Lil Meech? I feel bad for no grown man on this planet. I’m a grown man. Why the fuck I gotta feel sorry for another man?”
If that didn’t make it obvious enough, Rainey filmed his response directly toward Lil Meech, reiterating, “You a grown man too, n####. What are you asking for me to feel sorry for? You’ll be alright. Hoe ass n####.”
With that, Rainey made no bones about the fact that he and his BMF co-star had never lost love. This isn’t the first time that Rainey has shaded Lil Meech. Earlier last month, a TikTok user theorized that Rainey, as a mentor figure, should have taken Lil Meech under his wing as his mentee in the acting world, But Rainey wasn’t buying it. His blunt response? “Tried to; he wanted to be big bro so bad.
Rainey started as a child actor in the business, appearing in an Italian film at age 10. He became a star on 50 Cent’s Power and its spinoff Power Book II: Ghost, making him a veteran of the acting game.
Lil Meech, however, is still a relative newcomer to Hollywood. His big break was being cast as Demetrius Flenory, a character who also happens to be his father, Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, in BMF. While he’s risen quickly, not everyone puts out the welcome mat.
The latest falling out between Rainey and Lil Meech comes at a time when BMF’s future remains uncertain. Since 50 Cent saw Big Meech chilling with his longstanding nemesis Rick Ross, their tension has only mounted. 50 hasn’t been shy about his feelings, even hinting that the series may not surpass Season 4.
“What next season?” Fifty hinted on Instagram, feeding speculation that the show’s days are numbered.
As the only rights holder to BMF, 50 Cent alone controls the series’ fate. And if history has shown us anything, it’s that when 50 gets his feelings hurt, there’s no getting over it.
Little did he care about the social media storm, though, as shortly after the fact, Lil Meech was back to his old ways. He posted a video on Instagram this weekend of himself hanging out with his dad in Florida, so at least he’s blowing off the drama on the surface.
With BMF Season 4 still scheduled for release on June 6, fans are sure to be tuning in closely to see how any off-screen drama plays out. The BMF saga is far from over, whether behind the scenes or in front of the camera.
