Sauce Walka Injured, Sayso P Killed in Targeted Memphis Shooting

Unfortunately, the Memphis rapper was in the wrong place at the wrong time during a targeted shooting in downtown Memphis this past weekend that resulted in the TSF artist Sayso P's death. The attack, which Memphis police say was not a random act of violence, happened just a block from the lively Beale Street, one of the most popular tourist spots.

Sauce Walka, known for his flamboyant personality and trademark "drip," had been in the city with Sayso P, a rising artist on his Sauce Factory label. Just hours before the shooting, the two posted photos on Instagram flashing cash and giving their location while hanging out at Reservations Bar.

But then the night turned deadly. The two were standing outside when a white vehicle pulled in and opened fire. The attackers then fled, leaving Sayso P fatally injured at the scene. He hit Sauce Walka, but the rapper survived and is stable.

Officials wasted little time making clear that this was no random act. Assistant Chief Don Crowe of the MPD spoke to the media, stressing urgency. "So we're confident that vehicle has left the downtown area. I certainly want everyone to be on the lookout for this white vehicle. "We put out a citywide broadcast on that vehicle," Crowe said.

The investigators are getting to work, with homicide and CSI detectives on the job, to gather details about the suspects. But no arrests have been made, and while authorities have confirmed that it was a targeted attack, the motive is not clear.

In the hours after the shooting, it was thought paramount to social media footage of the chaotic aftermath. Directing their grief and disbelief to social media, fans, friends, and other artists have mourned Sayso P's sudden and tragic passing.

Sayso P, whose career was beginning to blossom under Sauce Walka's wing, had been riding a wave of success in the underground rap world. His links with TSF provided him with a platform, and he was building up a name for himself with hyperactive style and street-leaning lyrics. His death serves as another sad reminder of the violence still afflicting the hip-hop community.

As for Sauce Walka, the Houston rapper has faced adversity before. Earning a reputation through his independent grind, he's faced and overcome hurdle after hurdle. As he heals from his injuries, a lot of eyes are on how he will react to this tragedy.

For now, fans and family members are hoping for justice. The Memphis Police Department is still searching for the shooters and is urging those with information to speak out. It was a night that took the life of an ascendant star, sent shock waves through the rap world, and left many asking what was happening now.
