Sexyy Red Speaks Out, 'Hidden Agendas' Behind Industry Hate?

Sexyy Red is no stranger to debate, and she's putting her foot down, but she sees the hate and is not in for it. The St. Louis rapper, whose lyrics often feel visceral and uncompromising, stopped by Big Boy's radio show, "Big Boy's Neighborhood," where the two talked really about the negativity that she says constantly comes her way.

Never one to pull punches, Sexyy Red certainly did not bite her tongue when talking about the mixed response she gets in the street and the business.

"I feel like I'm the most hated female rapper," she said flat-out. "Like, I feel like they hate the most on me. I get so much love, but I know when they be hating on me. They be hating on me. It be like little inside s###."

Despite her considerable success and devoted fanbase, Sexyy Red feels like there's been an undercurrent of negativity directed at her, and she has theories as to where it originates. She claimed that the industry may have worked against her in the background.

"They trying to put me down. I be feeling like, 'Is y'all sending people to comment under here?'" she questioned. "I feel like it's some hidden agendas…It could be labels…I just be feeling like they don't want to see me win."

She did not name names, but her remarks sparked debate among fans. Others say it's just another instance of Sexyy Red being honest, while some believe there's truth to her statement, highlighting the difference in standards female rappers are subjected to.

Whatever the industry politics, Sexy Red's ascent in Hip-Hop has been undeniable. She first came into view in 2019 with "Ah Thousand Jugs," but the 2023 viral hit "Pound Town" made her a household name. The remix of the track "Pound Town 2," with Nicki Minaj became her first Billboard Hot 100 entry and showed the world she wasn't a one-hit wonder.

And her momentum didn't end there. She released the successful mixtape 'Hood Hottest Princess,' which solidified her grip on the game. Sexyy Red partnered with Bruno Mars on the single "Fat Juicy & Wet," which went to No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 by 2025.

With big festival shows, award nominations, and a quickly multiplying fanbase, she's showing the world that no hate, industry-fueled or otherwise, can stop her.

If there's one thing to know about Sexyy Red, she refuses to relent. Whether the people love her or love to hate her, she's bringing the same energy and being true to herself." And if the so-called "hidden agendas" are real, they're not stopping her shine. Sexyy Red isn't going anywhere, and she's letting the world know that.
