Tina Knowles Taps Michelle Obama for 'Matriarch' Memoir Tour

Tina Knowles is taking her pilgrimage to the stage on an exciting new book tour, and she's roping in some powerhouse ladies to join her along the journey. The fashion designer, philanthropist, and mother of global icon Beyoncé is going on the road for "An Evening With Tina Knowles," an intimate tour supporting her memoir, Matriarch: A Memoir.

The tour will begin in Washington, D.C., on April 30, with former First Lady Michelle Obama herself as the event's moderator. News of the pairing sent a wave of excitement across social media, with fans anticipating the intersection of robust dialogue between two influential women.

Knowles hopped on Instagram to announce a tour poster showing the stops, which hit eight different cities in North America before the tour ends in London on June 4.

"I'm so thrilled to bring Matriarch on the road and expand the discussion outside of the pages," Knowles said in a statement. "Storytelling has always been in my DNA, a gift passed down from my mother, and now, at 71, I finally have clarity on who I am at my core."

A Memoir, which was announced in October, isn't just a memoir; it's a multi-generational epic about resilience, family, and wisdom across generations. The book conveys the essence of motherhood, identity, and lessons that create strong women. The tour is expected to elaborate on these themes, letting crowds experience Knowles' insights and reflections up close.

"This journey has been about strength, motherhood, family pride and identity," Knowles wrote. "I hope these conversations inspire others to embrace their own stories and celebrate the power of knowing what we deserve."

As she tours the U.S. and Canada, Knowles is expected to discuss her life experiences, including raising two of the most powerful women in music, Beyoncé and Solange. Her insight and compassion have endeared her to fans, so this tour will give audiences a unique opportunity to hear from her in person.

Though Michelle Obama will kick off the tour in D.C., other surprise guests will pop in, giving every event its character. Expect lots of, how should I put this, unfiltered conversations on everything from personal development to overcoming adversity with dignity and poise.

The tour's final date will be in London on June 4, which will be the grand finale of what is expected to be a fantastic tour.

With Matriarch, Tina Knowles is showing yet again that her story is as uplifting as the stories she's helped craft. If this tour is anything like the wisdom she's proffered throughout the years, those in attendance are in for a night of inspiration, empowerment, and a glimpse into the legacy she is still building.
