Yung Filly is the stage name of British rapper, comedian, and YouTube figure Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos. The 29-year-old musician pleaded not guilty to several assault and sexual misconduct charges during an appearance Tuesday, March 11, in Perth Magistrates' Court about allegations connected to a 2024 incident in a hotel room in Perth.
Yung Filly, whose real name is Ayo Akinola, has faced serious allegations, including three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, one count of strangulation, and four counts of sexual penetration without consent, prosecutors have said. The accusations relate to an alleged incident involving a woman in her 20s on September 28, 2024.
After Barrientos was arrested in October 2024, authorities applied strict bail conditions: Barrientos was ordered to surrender his passport, not leave Western Australia, check in with local police every day, and not talk about the case in public. He was also ordered to stay at least 500 meters away from two people named by the court. His bail was also on strict conditions: a personal undertaking of 100,000 Australian dollars (about $63,000) and an equal surety.
