Young M.A. isn't going to let betrayal rattle her. The Brooklyn rapper recently spoke on the issue her ex-girlfriend caused when she shared a video of her in the hospital from a past health scare. Young M.A. took the high road instead of the social media war and left it to a higher power.
It's not exactly the best news for Young M.A., as she recently revealed in a tearful Instagram post that she's been holding onto the past with a pain that someone she cared about inflicted upon her. The footage that was leaked appears to have been filmed during a hospital stay and shows her in a vulnerable state. It quickly went viral on social media. Fans expressed concern quickly, but the rapper soon set the record straight.
"Not really much to explain," she wrote in the caption. "I cover books but keep the cover and the person who helped write the book in shambles … just gotta let God handle it … I can air a lot of things out about this person but that ain't my character. God bless."
Young M.A. acted with gratitude over vengeance, exhibiting poise despite the gravity of the situation. Appearing directly in the video herself, she addressed the incident head-on and told her fans that the video was from some time ago and she'd already closed the door to that dark time in her life.
"It's been two years. That was two years ago. I went through an unlucky circumstance in my life and I fell sick. I got really sick," she said, noting that she had already addressed her struggles in her music, especially her song and video "Open Scars."
Her voice beeped with disappointment and acceptance as she pointed out that her meanest moments on earth were exploited by someone she loved. "It's not really nothing to say on it," she said. "I'm a human. We go through sht. We fk up. This goddamn didn't even expect that person to do that sht, but you know, it just is, man."
Young M.A. responded with the receipts. Instead of hitting back messily, she made it clear that she would not sink to that level. "it's all I can do, and let god do this," she said. "That's just it; like I said all the time, keep moving forward." She made sure to make it clear that, while she could not make any affirmations to Sugar, she was over it and had been headed for more excellent days. "I just feel like that was only grimy," she says. I do not see how a being can also get in a position to do anything. That speaks a lot. I didn't know this was Shorty's essence. Then, I was spending f*king seven years of my life with a stranger," she continues.
Young M.A. was a true boss and kept it moving, ending her note by reminding her party that she was unscathed: "That's some I own. This is nothing to be embarrassed about. This is reality. That was a time of my life when it was honestly dull. But I am smart presently. Well. My supporters have always understood that.
