Soulja Boy Denies Explosive Rape Allegations During Civil Trial

Soulja Boy testified in a Los Angeles courtroom this week, categorically denying rape allegations made against him in a civil trial. The rapper, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, told jurors that he “never” attacked the woman who said he repeatedly abused her while she served as his assistant.

Soulja Boy claimed his interaction with Jane Doe, which included sex, was consensual, agreed to none of the injuries the accuser alleges and is entitled to adult entertainment businesses not to be held liable for damages if they are not justifiably aware of any offenses, according to The Blast. But he maintained the encounter was completely consensual.

“I said, ‘Do you want to have sex?’ and she was acting in it,” he testified. “She didn’t tell me to go away or to stop, none of that.”

His lawyers, including Rickey Ivie, maintained that their relationship had been consensual and that her claims were not backed by credible evidence. When she was asked directly, “Did you hit the plaintiff in the mouth, bust her lip, and force her to give you oral sex?” “That’s a disgusting allegation, and of course not,” the rapper responded firmly. It sounds wild to me. I did not do that.”

“Soulja Boy abused me physically and sexually multiple times from the end of 2018 through 2020,” wrote Jane Doe. She claims she was raped several times, including during the 2019 police raid and again in October 2020 while returning to get her things.

She also says the rapper locked her in a room for three days without food or water after she tried to quit her job in 2019. She also claims that Soulja Boy confiscated her driver’s license, threatened her with guns, and “trapped” her at his Malibu rental property.

In addition to the sexual and physical abuse she alleges, Jane Doe says she was never paid a dime for her work despite being promised $500 a week. Her duties reportedly included cooking, cleaning, driving, and being available 24/7.

Her testimony stated that within the first month of her employment, Soulja Boy messaged her with unsolicited explicit images. She went on to testify that he had physically attacked her on multiple occasions, punching her in the head, kicking her, and spitting on her, among other things. After one alleged assault in February 2019, she said he gave her $1,000 as hush money.

Jane Doe also alleged that Soulja Boy threatened to kill her violently, saying, “I should have killed you,” and threatening to send shooters to get her family if she ever left him. She said that despite the alleged abuse, she had remained because of his repeated apologies and promises that things would get better.

Ventura County prosecutors declined a criminal case in 2021, saying they could not prove the allegations beyond a reasonable doubt. Now Jane is fighting back with a civil lawsuit, which alleges sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, emotional distress, unpaid wages, and that she was subjected to a hostile work environment. The trial is ongoing in Los Angeles Superior Court, and both sides are making their cases in what has become a widely publicized legal battle.
