Shocking new footage has been leaked showing rapper Tory Lanez getting savagely beaten inside a California jail. The shocking footage, taken on May 12 and currently being shared online as of May 27, shows a vicious stairwell stabbing which resulted in Lanez desperately fighting for his life.
In the shocking clip from California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi, the mayhem unfolds as fellow inmate Santino Casio, a convicted killer, assaults the Canadian-born Lanez. Lanez staggers past a stairwell, and Casio pounces, flailing a weapon at him. The rapper falls back, feebly attempting to protect himself as the sucker attack continues.
Prison officials confirmed the severity of Lanez’s wounds: 14 stab wounds, seven to his back, four to his torso, two to the back of his head, and one to his face. Both lungs collapsed at the time of the attack, leading to immediate emergency care and a ventilator.
Officials described it as a “savage” and “vicious” attack that left the Canadian-born artist in critical condition. But in an update issued by his team, there was a glimmer of hope: “He is now breathing independently. Although weakened from the pain, he is cheerful, speaks normally, and is very grateful to God for keeping him.”
The reason for the attack is not yet known. Casio has since been transferred to a segregated unit, and the investigation is ongoing.
Lanez, whose name is Daystar Peterson, is already serving a 10-year prison sentence after being found guilty of shooting fellow rapper Meg Thee Stallion in 2020, a case that ignited a firestorm of public debate and courtroom drama. And even as Lanez recuperates from his near-fatal injuries, the legal fight over his conviction rages on.
However, his attorney, Walter Roberts, recently stirred the pot again when he said that new evidence suggests Kelsey Harris, not Lanez, was the one who pulled the trigger in the 2020 incident.
“No matter how far-fetched and baseless, this is a pathetic PR exercise.” “Despite Mr. Lanez being convicted at trial in public through overwhelming evidence including his own admission, he and/or others have sought to carry out a campaign to facelessly discredit Megan and now to assassinate her character,” Megan’s attorney Alex Spiro said.
However , Lanez does have his defenders, including U.S. Representative Anna Paulina Luna, who has publicly urged a pardon and reiterated that Lanez is innocent.
Emotions are running even higher, and the prison video is now fueling more discussion online. It seems that Tory Lanez again finds himself in the middle of another storm, except when people’s lives are at stake. What comes next, justice, healing, or something else, remains an open question; the story of Tory Lanez is far from over.
