Loudness Wars charge forward with "Battlefield"

Loudness Wars is playing a longer game, and they are winning exceedingly. Their newest single, "Battlefield," is more than a couple of years of relentless practice and sound-tweaking and later, the band debuts with a track that oozes sweat, soul, and aspiration. Every layer has a sense of care from the thunderous opening beats. The drums, raw and live, recorded in the band's rehearsal studio, ground the track with a punchy lo-fi power. It's the sort of drumming that keeps time and tells a story.

The rest of the production, constructed lovingly at home, contributes a counter shine. Guitars swell and scream, volleying emotion back and forth with the vocals that cut through the mix, controlled chaos fighting for your attention. That balance of the DIY grit shared by many bedroom bands and the tight, slick arrangements everyone hears says a lot about the band's insistence that things be done their way. And with Jerome in charge of the mix and production, "Battlefield" sounds entirely theirs, a personal rally cry repurposed as an explosion.

And for lucky fans in or close to West London, save the date: The band will play their first live show in Ealing next month. Their live show sounds like an unmissable full-body experience, equal parts sweat, heart, and high-decibel release. Loudness Wars isn't just dropping a song with "Battlefield" they're staking a claim. It's a band that's prepared for war in the best way possible: through genuine, unrelenting fury and intensity.
