50 Cent is piping up and doubling down, only this time, it’s not to lash out in an ancient beef but to stick up for an old enemy-turned-bro. Recording industry titan claps back at wild accusations leveled at Fat Joe. Now Fat Joe is facing allegations that he once allegedly attempted to have 50 Cent murdered over the weekend.
On Sunday (June 21, 2025), 50 Cent jumped on Instagram with a two-slide post. The first was a friendly-looking picture of him and Fat Joe sharing a laugh; the second was a snapshot of a sensational headline accusing Fat Joe of “plotting to have him killed” back in the day. Based on claims from Joe’s former hypeman, the headline alleges the Terror Squad leader “kept tabs” on 50’s shows in an alleged plan to ambush him in public.

“These false allegations and claims are not credible,” he wrote in the caption. I am sorry Joe always has to undergo scrutiny and have people try to damage his name everosphically. THIS IS A STICK UP! I wrote this hook. I wish I had kept this one.”
His response was blunt, acerbic, and ironic vintage 50. But something could also be beneath the jab: a rare public display of loyalty from someone better known for feuds than forgiveness.
50 Cent and Fat Joe were two of hip-hop’s feuding-est enemies in the early 2000s. Fat Joe’s association with Ja Rule and Murder Inc. made him a target of 50 ‘s when G-Unit was beefing with anyone and everyone associated with Ja Rule. The result is Diss tracks, public insults, and collateral damage, such as a reported $20 million sneaker deal Joe had pulled with Jordan Brand because of the feud.
Years later, they acknowledged that the beef was more about loyalty to their crews than mutual hatred. And, as time elapsed and tensions lessened, so did their animus. These days, they’re more like battle-scarred vets than blood enemies, brothers in the crucible of maturity.
Accordingly, when allegations of that nature conspired to take center stage, claims related to a $20 million lawsuit filed by Fat Joe’s former hypeman, Terrance Dixon 50’s defense proved both unexpected and signal. He was not just debunking rumors; he was showing respect.
Fat Joe’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, described the lawsuit as retaliatory and desperate and characterized it as a “coordinated attempt to extort” the Bronx rapper. Tacopina offered a double down, citing shady history on behalf of the lawyer representing Dixon and charging, “These statements are all complete fabrications!
Loyalty is a rare thing in hip-hop. Redemption arcs are far, few, and between, even fewer. But now, 50 riding for Fat Joe feels like a full-circle evolution. What once were sworn enemies have now traded laughs, and it’s become clear that some beefs don’t end but get deeper.
