In an explosive and emotionally charged revelation, the woman known as “Jane Doe” in a sexual assault lawsuit against music executive Sean “Diddy” Combs has gone public, revealing her identity as Chelsey Lovelace.
Lovelace sat down with Rolling Stone to explain that she wasn’t breaking her silence for attention but for healing. “This is about accountability,” she said. “Of standing in my truth. Of choosing to heal instead of to hide.” Her voice, muted for so long, now resounds with purpose.

Diddy and Lovelace were in what ostensibly appeared to be a high-profile relationship. But behind the scenes, she says it was something much darker. She claims in her lawsuit, initially filed in September 2024, that Diddy drugged her, forced her into group sex, and used money as a leash to control her life and silence her.
“There was a point when I did think we shared something. “That illusion shattered. And with it, parts of me did, too.” Lovelace explains how what she believed to be love turned into manipulation and abuse. “I was not recognized as a fellow being with a soul but as a pawn in a much greater game.”
The phrase “freak-offs,” reportedly Diddy’s word, now luridly situates it in the narrative. Lovelace says she was repeatedly coerced into group sex situations, sometimes when she was drugged, she claims against her will, with substances including Ecstasy and ketamine. One such episode took place at Diddy’s Miami home in July 2024, where she claims the drugs made her feel confused and unable to work.
She also detailed the power play behind the financial control. According to her, Diddy also gave her a regular stipend. However, she believes it wasn’t out of generosity but a way of manipulating her and controlling her by making her dependent, at a distance from her desires and from her career.
“I didn’t want it to be true,” she shared. “I wrestled with God, my heart, and silence.” The choice to file as Jane Doe first and then disclose who she was was difficult. But for Lovelace, the moment is about more than just the legal fight but an exercise to regain power.
Her words were cut: “This is about every single night I looked in the mirror and didn’t recognize the person looking back at me, and thought, ‘I must be the problem’ … This is about the countless times I told myself to stay quiet and stay loyal and for what?”
The 55-year-old is already facing a range of federal charges that include sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, for which Diddy maintains he is “completely innocent.” But Lovelace’s account is layering on to a crescendo of accusation that stretches across decades.
Regardless of what happens in the case legally, Chelsea Lovelace’s decision to go public has moved the story from secrecy to survival and, maybe, for others who have not spoken, shown them a way into their truth.
