Former NBA star Lamar Odom is best known for his skillful moves on the basketball court and his whirlwind marriage to Khloé Kardashian, but recently, Odom's back in the news for a far less glamorous reason: eviction.
Lamar Odom has pleaded the Fifth and will move out of a luxury Studio City mansion following allegations he bailed on an insane $45,000 in unpaid rent, new court documents reveal. The house, located in one of Los Angeles' most exclusive neighborhoods, became the focus of a legal dispute after Odom allegedly breached a verbal lease agreement.

According to the landlord, Odom entered a month-to-month lease on a date unspecified near December 15, 2024, paying a rent of $ 15,000 per month, which was due on the first of each month, without fail. But the clock was ticking, and I wasn't being paid.
After seemingly lapsed notices, including a legal three-day ultimatum to pay up or face eviction, the property owner took them to court. When Odom didn't respond to the notice, a judge ruled in the landlord's favor, allowing them legal possession of the property and officially evicting Odom.
The court decision is the latest installment in the turbulent post-NBA life of Odom. Whereas he once enjoyed life in the spotlight (bagging NBA titles and appearing in reality TV), he has in recent years been bogged down by personal and financial flak.
Many fans never forgot Odom's near-fatal overdose in 2015 that occurred at a Nevada brothel, an ordeal that had him in a coma and reportedly led to a dozen strokes and six heart attacks. Khloé Kardashian had famously delayed their divorce to help take care of him, but they eventually finalized their divorce in December 2016.
Now, almost a decade later, the ex-NBA player is in the news again, and not for his skills on the court or his high-profile romance, but for a legal eviction related to overdue rent.
Odom has been candid in the past about starting his life over and overcoming addiction. Still, this latest episode is another reminder that the road to recovery is often anything but smooth, even for those who were once famous and fabulously wealthy.
There has been no response from Lamar Odom to either the eviction or lawsuit at this time. Since the court sided so heavily in favor of the landlord after Odom failed to respond, the decision stands, and the Studio City mansion is officially on the market again.
In Hollywood, it's a land of fast turns and preparations for acting parts, and for Lamar Odom, this is another dramatic one, though not the kind that the dope, rambunctious fake that someone throws when jammed on the hardwood.
