Lil Baby Pulls Off a Chain Snatch Heard ‘Round the Internet Streamer Left Saying “Call the Cops?”

In a moment that straddled the line between rap posturing and reality TV spectacle, Lil Baby left streamer, Jack Doherty, in shock and missing a chain gang after an attention-grabbing and decreasingly believable club appearance that has the internet whispering: Was that real or just next-level marketing?

The Atlanta rapper was caught red-handed and red-camera’d effortlessly unclipping Doherty’s diamond chain straight off his neck as a magician during a trick. It unfolded on stage in front of an audience, and yes, every moment of it was recorded for the whole world to witness.

Initially, Doherty was ignorant that his bling had disappeared. Unbothered as ever, Lil Baby slipped it into his pocket while returning to the conversation as if nothing happened. The rapper was halfway to his ride when the streamer realized he’d been jacked.

Outside the venue, as Lil Baby sized up for departure in a matte-black Mercedes G-Wagon, Doherty caught up to him. “I need my chain, bro,” he pleaded.

Lil Baby’s response? Cold, “Call the police. Lawsuit,” he added flatly before storming off and letting a visibly shocked Doherty vent to what else? The camera.

“It’s on camera, bro, like what? He think he can take my chain and do that now? This is hilarious. There’s no way this is real.”

The internet sincerely prays that it is. The clip went viral online within hours, with some laughing and others shaking their heads. Many others were happy to clown Doherty, who, it should be pointed out, is known to misplace high-priced jewelry. He actually said he’d been robbed out of a $300,000 chain earlier this year. Ironically enough, Lil Baby had actually volunteered to replace that one.

So… is this revenge? A social media stunt? A millennial-age collab hidden in a heist?

Adding more fuel to that particular fire, Doherty shared the clip with a caption: “Lil Baby really took my chain. Shortly thereafter, Lil Baby posted to Instagram, smiling and flashing the chain with a look that said, yep, I did it. Doherty reposted that, too, with the note “W lil baby” thrown on, and anybody who wasn’t already unsure of the terms of the relationship became even more so.

Commenters were ruthless. “How much u pay lil baby to tell u this script? 10k? 20k?” one asked. “Bro, flexing the fact ppl can take advantage of you is not a flex another added. No such thing as bad publicity, tho.” And maybe the most direct: “He’s just doing it for clout lmfao at this point.

Whether it was a staged stunt or an instance of pettiness caught on the fly, the footage has everyone talking and going viral, and both Lil Baby and Jack Doherty are trending.

So, clout or crime? Marketing or mayhem? Maybe both. But if you’ve got a diamond chain around Lil Baby, you might want to keep one hand on it and the other with your finger on the button to call 911, just in case.
