Kim Kardashian may be the center of as much attention as she gets for fashion or skincare this week. Now 44, the reality star and entrepreneur is making a bold public stand against President Trump’s new immigration enforcement policies, and she’s not holding back.
Kardashian spoke out on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, in an Instagram story post criticizing a recent wave of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrests in Los Angeles last week. A minimum of 44 people were taken into custody in a move officials characterized as an operation to remove “criminal aliens from Los Angeles communities.” However, to many locals and Kim, the visual was different.

“When we’re told that @ICEgov exist solely for ‘keeping our country safe’ yet going into homes and separating thousands of children from their families is neither safe nor fair #KeepFamiliesTogether and free these children,” Kardashian wrote. “But when we see innocent, hardworking people being ripped from their families in so inhumane a fashion, we have to do something. We have to do what’s right.”
Protests immediately broke out across the city in reaction to the ICE action. The disturbance prompted the L.A.P.D. to impose an emergency curfew in downtown L.A., and dozens more arrests were made when demonstrators violated the order. As helicopters buzzed and moods tautened, Kardashian’s message seemed a furious counterpunch from one of the city’s most prominent residents.
“Issue number one: Prioritize our children invest in early learning,” one of the burlap figures, meant to evoke a young child, says. “They’re our neighbors, friends, classmates, coworkers, and family members.
Her remarks, echoed by her millions of followers, didn’t simply blame others; they sought empathy, unity, and policy change.
No matter where you stand politically, I think everybody would agree that America’s economy has thrived because of the hard work and contributions of newly arrived immigrants,” she stressed. “We can no longer ignore the fear and the hate this kind of cruelty injects into our society.”
The timing of her post and its heartfelt tone resonated. Just days before, President Trump had sent the National Guard and 700 Marines to federal buildings in the area in a move widely seen as an effort to bolster his hardline immigration message and quash unrest.
In a similar show of support, Kim also re-posted an impassioned clip of rapper Doechii from their recent BET Awards speech, in which she begged Trump to put an end to the “ruthless attacks” on immigrant communities. The re-post added further weight to what Kardashian had shared: this is not just a personal stance but a call to arms.
As the city stands in fear, protest, and, at least sometimes, political divide, Kardashian’s words cut through the chaos: “There HAS to be a BETTER way.
