Boosie Cheers, Luenell and Kesha Call Out Diddy Verdict Fallout

The verdict is barely dry, and the culture is already engaging in a full-fledged tug-of-war over Sean “Diddy” Combs’s partial guilty verdict. The stakes are high, passions are running hot. On one side of the divide? Louisiana rapper Boosie Badazz, who wasted no time celebrating what he perceived as a victory, and not just for Diddy, but Black moguls writ large. In an impassioned video posted on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, Boosie said, “I’m so happy Diddy is free,” and “I’m tired of seeing us Black moguls get taken down like that … and I’m tired of seeing us Black people go against us Black moguls like that.”

Boosie was never afraid of a bit of controversy, either, but waved away the two counts of transporting women for prostitution, which were convictions for Diddy, noting that the mogul was only guilty of “domestic violence.” He then, characteristically blunt, issued Diddy some advice in sending him on his way: “Sit your ass down somewhere. Snatch Stevie J and get the f### on.”

Even producer Hitmaka added his opinion to Boosie’s post, saying, “GOD IS GOOD.” During his livestream, Ray J transformed the moment into a Diddy appreciation, spinning Bad Boy classics in a vibe-heavy, celebratory homage to the mogul’s musical legacy.

Comedian Luenell wasn’t having it. Her Instagram post was a vituperative indictment of what she views as profound indifference to women’s experiences. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, gives 2+2 about what Men do to Women. It’s Sad AF to ME!” she wrote. “All of his enablers and his helpers, his allies get just to skip away scott free.”

Pop star Kesha reiterated it for emphasis, in a hushed voice and quietly strong voice, tucked in just behind Cassie Ventura, who was one of the charges. “Cassie, I trust you,” Kesha wrote in her post. “You are a lighthouse to all survivors.”

The verdict was something of a split decision: Diddy was acquitted of the more serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges, but convicted on two counts of transporting women for prostitution, each punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Former Danity Kane member Aubrey O’Day was on Instagram Live when it happened. “This is making me want to throw up,” she continued, before dragging Diddy for his “pattern of behavior” and commending Cassie for coming forward.

And no bit of celebrity drama would be complete without 50 Cent chiming in. He has continued his ceaseless, cryptic trolling of Diddy, and others have pushed their narratives of contention. Consequence and Funk Flex have even gone so far as to mention that Cassie was not a victim.
