The R&B star Chris Brown has officially resolved a civil lawsuit stemming from a wild nightclub brawl that went down in London last year, in which he was accused of getting all up in a man's grill with a bottle of Don Julio 1942. The suit, brought by Diaw in Los Angeles County, was dismissed with prejudice on June 28, 2025, which means that it's final and cannot be appealed.
The legalese suggests a secret settlement out of court is the probable result. So, while we may never know how many dollars changed hands here, we can now report that both parties involved have agreed to put the civil side of this matter behind them.

More than three years later, the episode that occurred on February 19, 2023, at the London club TAPE continues to cast a shadow in Brown's legal life. Brown was accused in Diaw's initial complaint of hitting him several times in the head with the tequila bottle, and when Diaw passed out, he didn't let up, stomping on his face and leaving him gravely injured, the artist allegedly said at the time. That chilling tale drew more than civil court attention.
Brown was arrested and charged on May 15, 2025, in Manchester, England, by British authorities for grievous bodily harm with intent. The sort of reckoning that doesn't go away with a handshake and a check.
Brown was released after almost a week behind bars on an astonishing $6 million bail. The conditions of the release include surrendering his passport and residing in the U.K. However, the court has permitted him to continue touring the world, provided he returns for every court date.
Brown pleaded not guilty to the criminal case on June 20, 2025. His case is formally scheduled for trial on October 26, 2026." Although the civil case is now over, the criminal case is just heating up.
It's the latest chapter in the Chris Brown saga that's long been half talent, half trouble. What awaits him at the end of this new legal tempest is anybody's guess: vindication or conviction. But for now, Brown straddles the tightrope between tour life and court dates, with one lawsuit out of his way, and a serious criminal case looming.
