Ja Rule Throws Shade at 50 Cent Over Sparse Concert Crowd

Ja Rule clowned 50 Cent on Instagram days after a blog post alleged tickets were selling slowly for the latter's 'Legacy Tour' stop in London. The post said a 2-for-1 special had been announced "because of EXTREMELY low demand." And that's all Ja needed to strike the match.

"Not the 2 for 1…" he said, clearly savoring the moment. A few days later, a fan attempted to clap back with a screenshot showing that the venue was supposedly sold out, and Ja wasn't buying it.

In return, he shared a video of 50 Cent's recent stadium show, noting the vacant seats in the crowd. The caption? A sly jab, full of pop culture shade: "You sure bout that??? Ain't nobody coming to see you Otis... I mean, Curtis."

That "Otis" line is a deep cut, and it's had to look back to the movie The Temptations to remember it (it's the thing that Barry Gordy says when he's trying to diminish someone's star power, counter to what the track would lead you to believe). Ja had swapped "Otis" in the refrain for "Curtis," the first name of 50 Cent, whom he was feuding with, for added bite.

And just when you thought Ja was finished, one more Instagram user attempted to drag him across the floor, penning, "I just wish whilst he was trolling he had some music to bring out as well. When you get ppl attention what better time to push your s### out?"

Ja came back with no words, just a video of him behind the wheel bouncing to an unheard track, hinting that he is cooking up something new after all.

These two have a history of taking shots at each other; this wasn't the first go-around. They have been at odds since the 1990s, and the tension has persisted ever since. Among the most notorious incidents: in 2018, 50 Cent was reported to have purchased 200 front-row tickets at a Ja Rule concert in Arlington, Texas, to keep the seats empty. He reportedly managed his stunt using one Groupon deal, in which tickets were sold for $15 each, spending about $3,000 to make his point.

Jump ahead five years, and the energy is the same. Yet Ja and 50 are still trading lyrical jabs and social media shade with the same ferocity as when they first emerged. The truth behind the ticket sales aside, when it comes to keeping a cover beef alive, Ja Rule and 50 Cent are undefeated.
